I joined the Clash of Beasts project at Ubisoft Abu Dhabi whilst was still in its soft-launch phase. For 6 months, I worked as a Game Designer on the project, primarily on improving the state of the game and its features, with the aim to create an identity for the game and alleviate it from its direct competitors within the market in preparation for the game's worldwide launch.
Shortly after the game's official release, I was promoted to the role of Lead Game Designer of Clash of Beasts. For the next six months or so, I worked with the rest of the design team to further develop and maintain the game's live operations, however, I felt that there were simply too many flawed aspects of the game's original design (as was irrefutably reflected in the game’s steadily declining performance). It was in my professional opinion that the game in its then-current trajectory was simply not a sustainable business-case, and any attempts to gradually repair and patch these issues would be simply too inefficient an approach to try to redeem the game in such an early and critical stage. I took it upon myself to revive and rebuild Clash of Beasts from the ground up, not just in terms of the game's overall design, but also shaping the project management processes for the entire development team, and over the past six months, I have led and maintained the production of this new game up until its successful re-launch in December 2022, and continue my role as Lead Game Designer and Product Owner for the future of the project throughout 2023.
Aside from the roles outlined above, I was also recently appointed the additional role of UI/UX lead, with the strategy in-mind to align both Design and UI/UX as a singular team within the project, so that I may more effectively improve and streamline the development pipeline all design processes.
In addition to supporting and guiding and the development of my team and of the game. I am also managing the production and development of the future of the project itself; with the creation and maintenance of the release roadmap for the upcoming financial year, as well as migrating the entire project team to a much more systemic and structured sprint-based, agile development method.
